A major initiative of FFFNE is the annual Summer Cultural Camp for Children (Pinoy Camp) which has been held since 1995. Staffed by adult and youth volunteers, the camp runs for 6 days culminating in a cultural presentation on the last day. The camp draws between 60 to 90 participants attending pre-K thru Grade 10. Youth volunteers attend Grade 11 thru college and beyond. Most youth volunteers former campers. The camp is held on the first or second week of August.
The FFFNE camp is a hit to the young children as well as youth volunteers. It is a much-awaited event since this is the place to re-connect with old friends as well as develop new friends. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Whatsapp, etc maybe popular with the young generation but nothing is cooler than hanging out with old and new friends!! That’s the value proposition of the Summer Camp.
